Return and Refund Policy

In general, refunds for returned or cancelled items can be made to the credit card used at purchase or to store credit that can be used in the future. Credit card refunds usually take less than 5 days, but this processing time is dependent on which card was used for the purchase. Store Credit will process within one business day and be available for one year from issuance. After the year, store credit will expire. Classes and Workshops

The 30-day limit on returns does not apply to classes and workshops. We do attempt to fulfill all classes and workshops within 90 days of purchase. 

Group Classes

Group in-person classes are eligible for a refund if the student cancels at least one week prior to the scheduled class date. When the student needs to cancel in this situation, they need to contact us via phone (503 236-7318 or by email to shopadmin@fiberrhythm.com. We will then ask if the student would like a refund to the credit card used to purchase the class, or if they would like store credit.

If a student cancels with less than a week before the scheduled class date, or does not show up on the class date, their payment is forfeited and not eligible for a refund. This includes any payment for class materials.

If we need to cancel a class for any reason, up to and including the date of the class, students will be refunded 

Private Lessons

Often, private, in-person classes do not need to be cancelled. They can be re-scheduled with agreement from the assigned teacher.  When re-schedule requests exceed three times, we will contact the student and suggest a refund to store credit so that they can re-purchase the private lesson when they are more likely to be able to attend.

When a private lesson has been scheduled and the student does not show up, the class fee is forfeited.

If the teacher needs to cancel a private lesson for any reason, up to and including the date of the class, we will first attempt to reschedule the class, if that does not work out, students will be refunded to the credit card used on purchase.

Online Courses

Online courses, since they are delivered digitally directly upon purchase, are not refundable.

Physical Merchandise

We have a 30-day return policy for regular merchandise, which means you have 30 days after purchasing your item to  request a return.  To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Items that meet these requirements will be refunded the full purchase price, less any shipping charges  

Please note that yarn sold in skeins or hanks are not returnable if they have been wound into balls.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon receiving it and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. When damage has occurred during shipping, we will request that you place a claim with the shipping service. We can help you through this process, so contact us as soon as you can.

Exceptions / non-returnable items

Certain types of items cannot be returned or refunded. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Gift Cards
  • Custom made products
  • Special orders
  • Knitting Machines
  • Looms
  • Spinning Wheels
  • Digital Products (such as online courses or digital patterns).

Local returns

If you are local to our shop in SE Portland, Oregon, simply bring your item in with you along with your receipt and we will refund your purchase price to the original credit card. If you originally paid in cash, we will issue you a store credit which can be used in-person or online. 

Remote returns

To start a return, you can contact us at shopadmin@fiberrhythm.com. If your return is accepted, we will provide instructions on how and where to send your package. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 2505 SE 11th Ave STE 124, Portland, OR 97202 at your own cost.

Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. However, if you are local, you may come into the shop and we can exchange your item instead. This is only applicable if you are exchanging for an equal priced item.

European Union 14 day cooling off period

While we do not ship currently to the European Union, if and when we do, the following will apply:

Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Digital Products

Digital products, as they are delivered immediately upon payment, are not eligible for returns or refunds.
